There are nine known planets. Starting from the sun, outward:

Mercury - fastest orbiting planet and longest day.

Venus - the hottest and has the most circular orbit. It also has no moons.

Earth - that's us. We're cool!

Mars - has the highest mountain (15 miles above the surrounding plain). Mars is also known as the "Red Planet".

Jupiter - the largest planet. Has the largest moon. Deepest ocean, and shortest day.

Saturn - the planet with rings. Has 18 moons.

Uranus - also has 18 moons and is tipped on its axis. It's N pole lies 98 degrees from being directly up and down. When the sun rises at the N pole it stays up for 42 years. When the sun sets, the N pole stays in darkness for 42 years. Weird...

Neptune - solid surface may be non-existent.

Pluto - farthest away from the sun. The smallest planet and the coldest planet.
