1. Grand Canyon National Park - Grand Canyon, AZ 86023
One mile deep, 18 miles wide, 227 miles long.

2. Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park - 30,000 acres;
Buttes and spires made famous from countless films and TV.  From Kayenta travel 22 miles. 17-mile tour loops through the valley.

3. Petrified Forest National Park - Just off I40 - NE Arizona.
Has hiking trails.

4. Tonto Natural Bridge State Park 
1/2 mile off Hwy 87. World’s largest natural travertine - 400 feet wide. Arches 183 feet above Pine Creek.

5. Cochise Stronghold Douglas, AZ 85607 
Located in Dragoon Mts. west of Hwy 191 - used as a refuge by Chiricahua Chief Cochise during the 10-year Apache War.

6. Fort Apache
4 miles SW of Whitewater near Hwy 73. Established in 1870. Used by U.S. Army’s Ist Calvary and 21st Infantry. Features Gen. Crook’s headquarters and Apache Cultural Center.

7. Tombstone, Arizona
See famous O.K. Corral, the Tombstone Epitaph, and Tombstone Courthouse.

8. Biosphere 2 
35 miles NE of Tucson off Hwy 77. Oracle, AZ 85623. Glass-enclosed airtight environment. Eight people attempted to live on their own for 2 years. Basically a giant greenhouse.

9.Carefree Sundial 
Carefree, AZ. One of the world’s largest sundials, measuring 90 feet across. Correct time on vernal and autumn equinoxes.

10. London Bridge
Lake Havasu City, AZ. Controversy over authenticity. However, college students flock here for spring break anyway.

11. Meteor Crater -Flagstaff, AZ. 
Located 20 miles west of Winslow off Interstate 40. Take Exit 239, 6 miles south. Created about 49,000 years ago when gigantic meteor impacted area at almost 45,000 miles/hr.
